About The Position

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for maintaining, repairing and modifying fleet equipment and golf carts comprised of a variety of light medium, and heavy automotive and maintenance equipment as well as specialized mechanical equipment and machinery including landscape/grounds equipment, computerized testing equipment and diesel-fueled electric power generators. This position is also responsible for evaluating campus vehicle and equipment programs needs for capital planning/budgeting, providing vendor supervision/contractor oversight as assigned, and maintaining necessary records and preparing required reports. This position will be responsible for keeping all equipment maintained and working safely.

Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized automotive/equipment repair apprenticeship program; OR Completion of the Equipment Mechanic-In-Training program in Nevada State service; OR One (1) year experience as an Equipment Mechanic I in Nevada State service; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A valid driver’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition for continuing employment.
  • Must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
