About The Position

FerrouSouth, a leading steel processor located in Yellow Creek Port on the Tennessee River in Iuka, Mississippi, is currently hiring an Industrial Equipment Technician for day shifts. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, and adjustments on industrial machinery to minimize unscheduled downtime, extend equipment lifespan, and improve productive performance. The technician will also diagnose and repair malfunctions in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, while adhering to all safety regulations and procedures. Collaboration with other departments, inventory management, and training/mentoring are also key functions of this position.

Requirements

Industrial Electrical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot from 480 down to control circuits or components (valves, solenoids, motors, etc.).
Ability to read electrical schematic knowledge a must.
Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or completed education in Industrial Maintenance.
Willing to develop and improve on multi-craft skills (electrical, controls, hydraulic, pneumatic, fabrication & welding, etc.).
Must have own tools and a job box.
Self-motivated, capable of identifying and prioritizing tasks without direct supervision.
Effective communication and documentation skills.

Nice To Haves

PLC code knowledge is not required; ability to understand I/O and power supplies is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist in maintaining inventory of parts and supplies.
Train and mentor others in the group as team member.
