The Equipment Maintenance Technician will be based in Buffalo Grove, IL reporting to the Equipment Maintenance Manager. Requirements

  • Associate degree in a technical field, military technical training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to use diagnostic tools and interpret technical schematics.
  • Extensive experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, industrial controls, automation systems, and related manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize maintenance activities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to safety, quality, and equipment reliability.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with injection molding machines, molding processes, and related auxiliary equipment is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with injection molding concepts, processing parameters, and troubleshooting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Utilize digital multimeters, clamp meters, and other diagnostic tools to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Diagnose and repair industrial equipment including PLC-controlled systems, motors, drives, sensors, actuators, valves, and automated machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems including pumps, cylinders, valves, regulators, and related components.
  • Apply systematic troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes, reduce downtime, and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on production and facility equipment.
  • Support maintenance work order completion and provide accurate documentation of repairs and findings.
  • Coordinate with OEMs and equipment vendors when technical support or specialized repairs are required.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, commissioning activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and company policies.
