About The Position

Dymax, part of the Bachmann Chemical & Engineering family of brands, is seeking a results-focused, innovative, self-driven, and well-qualified individual to join their talented team as an Equipment Assembly Technician. Based out of Torrington, Connecticut, the technician will consistently meet or surpass customer expectations by efficiently assembling UV curing and dispensing equipment while also meeting quality standards, deadlines, lines-on-time, results metrics, and maintaining safety diligence and assembly best practices. The role involves accurately assembling equipment and related products by following and interpreting engineering drawings, bills of materials, work orders, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. It also includes assembling components into larger subassemblies and finished units by inspecting, fitting, and fastening parts with hand tools, small power tools, and fixtures. The technician will eliminate product discrepancies and nonconformances through thorough examination and testing of finished goods, peer reviewing work quality standards, and identifying and troubleshooting quality issues, then implementing corrective actions. Maintaining dependable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) records through accurate input entries and executing key electronic transfers and search functions is also a key part of the role. Additionally, the technician will maintain supply inventory by checking quantities in stock, anticipating needed supplies, placing orders, and verifying receipt, while proactively communicating inventory issues to the manager and researching discrepancies under the Production Manager’s direction. Facilitating continuous improvement by identifying potential sources of quality concerns and production bottlenecks, then problem-solving and innovating solutions under the Production Manager’s direction is expected. The role also involves developing and fine-tuning assembly techniques and procedures by establishing and documenting best practices, then providing timely feedback to Engineering and Production Support teams for both existing products and new product development processes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED/equivalent
  • 1+ year(s) experience in equipment assembly, maintenance, inspection, and/or quality control
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and procedures
  • Routinely use screwdrivers, pliers, electric screwdrivers, and other hand tools
  • Computer navigation and utilization skills essential

  • experience in electronics assembly preferred
  • Experience with JDE E1 or other ERP system preferred
