About The Position

UPMC is seeking a dedicated, full-time Equipment Aide to join its Emergency Department team. The role is responsible for equipment record keeping and quality checks, identifying repair, maintenance, and cleaning needs, submitting repair requests, supporting quality monitoring, notifying personnel when indicators are outside normal ranges, and ordering unit-specific supplies and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or one year of previous job experience in lieu of a high school diploma or GED.
• Clearances with renewal: Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73.

• Prior job experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate equipment records and perform quality checks.
• Identify repair, maintenance, and cleaning needs for unit-specific equipment and the environment according to procedures.
• Enter online facilities repair requests and maintain accurate records of completed maintenance.
• Assist with assigned quality monitoring, including maintaining refrigerator and temperature logs and point-of-care testing.
• Notify appropriate personnel when quality indicators are outside the normal range.
• Order unit-specific supplies and equipment and ensure adequate amounts are available on the unit.
