About The Position

The Physical Therapy Aide assists physical therapy staff with routine operational tasks. The role helps prepare treatment equipment and rooms, assists patients with limited mobility in reaching treatment areas, and performs administrative duties. The aide also helps maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and sanitary work environment while following applicable standards, procedures, and legal regulations.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Current CPR certification.
• Detail-oriented.
• Customer/client orientation.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Able to perform varied activities including sitting, walking, squatting, stooping, lifting, bending, and reaching.
• Able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and lift 100 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for treatment and provide information regarding treatments and evaluations.
• Set up equipment, change linens, and clean therapy rooms and equipment.
• Assist patients with limited mobility in reaching treatment areas.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of physical therapy supplies.
• Ensure treatment rooms and open gym space meet safety and sanitation requirements.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
