About The Position

Our hospital is seeking an Equine Veterinary Technician to help provide outstanding patient care and client service in a fast-paced, multi-doctor animal hospital. The Equine Veterinary Technician assist clinicians with exams, procedures and surgery. The Equine Veterinary Technician will work closely with the veterinarians and technicians to help ensure all patients receive proper care and treatment. Applicants must demonstrate professionalism, dependability, healthy and positive communication skills, and the ability to multi-task. Our next team member will be an energetic people-and-pet person with excellent work ethic and social and organizational skills. Must be willing to work flexible hours. Ideal Candidate: Will have an upbeat, friendly, and professional attitude Be compassionate/caring Can work individually, as well as on a team Excellent communication skills, a sense of urgency, and working harmoniously with team mates is required Prior experience preferred This position requires regular on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Due to the nature of veterinary hospital operations, in-person attendance is necessary to support patient care, respond to time-sensitive needs, collaborate with clinical teams, and maintain the safety and well-being of patients, clients, and staff. Requirements

  • Current state licensure in good standing for Veterinary Technician roles.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clinicians with exams, procedures, and surgery.
  • Work closely with veterinarians and technicians to ensure proper patient care and treatment.
  • Handle horses, including restraining, jogging, lunging, and bandaging.
  • Process bloodwork and labs.
  • Document records of patient care.
  • Prepare client invoices.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary treatment area.
  • Perform autoclaving and instrument care.
  • Clean and restock ambulatory vehicles.
