This position supports and enhances public health surveillance and detection capacities of the Office of Preparedness and Response (OP&R) by participating in biosurveillance and other drug-overdose monitoring and analysis activities as part of the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) program. This includes partnering and collaborating with other epidemiologists working on overdose data across agencies monthly and annual data reporting requirements to the OD2A DOSE program and regular collaboration with overdose prevention and response teams. This position is considered Emergency Essential, functions on a 24/7 status, and may need to respond to public health or other emergency and provide own transportation. This position is eligible for telework per the Director of OP&R's leadership. Employees must adhere to the current MDH and OP&R's telework policy.
