About The Position

Adventist Healthcare seeks to hire an experienced Epic Clinical Information System Analyst III for our Radiant Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. This role involves leading advanced analysis and enterprise workflow design, architecting, configuring, building, testing, validating, optimizing, and maintaining Epic functionality and integrated solutions. The analyst will lead the resolution of high-impact incidents, plan and lead complex application projects, and serve as a senior liaison and subject matter expert for various stakeholders. They will establish standards for application design and build, mentor other analysts, and evaluate emerging capabilities to recommend enterprise improvements. The position also involves providing leadership with status reporting, participating in go-lives and major event support outside normal business hours, and performing other related duties. Specific responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining Radiant application records, configuring technologist and radiologist workflows, maintaining imaging order build, and partnering with the interface team for integrations. The role also includes coordinating with other Epic modules, maintaining charge build, troubleshooting order/result/image-availability issues, participating in workflow design sessions, writing and running test scripts, supporting training and go-live activities, and keeping documentation up to date. Additionally, the analyst will resolve Radiant incidents and service requests, analyze workflows and reporting data for optimization opportunities, and evaluate/test Epic upgrades and new features. They will also build and maintain Radiant reports and dashboards, support imaging governance, ensure workflows support regulatory requirements, and follow change control, security, and HIPAA requirements. The analyst will act as a liaison between IT and imaging departments across AHC facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in healthcare, information systems, business, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • 7-8 years of direct clinical, healthcare operations, clinical information systems, application support, or related experience, including substantial experience leading complex implementations, upgrades, optimization, or production support in an integrated EHR environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large workstreams, directing cross-functional teams, and mentoring analysts is required.
  • Must be able to maintain required Epic credentials and participate in travel, on-call coverage, and extended-hour support for major projects and operational events as business needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced analysis and enterprise workflow design; architect, configure, build, test, validate, optimize, and maintain Epic functionality and integrated solutions across application and operational boundaries.
  • Leads resolution of high-impact, ambiguous, or cross-application incidents and problems; directs root-cause analysis, coordinates technical and operational responders, develops durable corrective actions, and communicates through closure.
  • Plans and leads large or highly complex application projects, upgrades, implementations, and optimization initiatives; establishes approach, scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, testing strategy, implementation readiness, and outcome measures.
  • Serves as a senior liaison and subject matter expert for operational leaders, governance bodies, Epic representatives, end users, vendors, and technical and application teams; facilitates decisions and escalates issues through defined governance channels.
  • Establishes and reinforces standards for application design, build, integrated testing, change control, documentation, release readiness, data validation, and production support; performs quality review of complex work.
  • Mentors and develops analysts, coordinates shared work, provides technical direction, and leads knowledge transfer, training, and support-readiness activities without requiring formal supervisory authority.
  • Evaluates emerging capabilities, regulatory and patient-safety requirements, operational performance, and user feedback to recommend enterprise improvements and sustainable Epic solutions.
  • Provides leadership with concise status, risk, dependency, budget or resource, and milestone reporting; participates in go-lives, upgrades, downtimes, and major-event support outside normal business hours.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Design, build, and maintain Radiant application records, including imaging procedures, modalities, resources, departments, and exam rooms.
  • Configure technologist workflows for exam check-in, begin/end exam, documentation, contrast and medication administration, and quality checks.
  • Build radiologist reading workflows, including worklists, protocoling, preliminary and final result entry, critical result communication, and addenda.
  • Configure specialty workflows such as breast imaging (mammography tracking, BI-RADS, and patient result letters), interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, and CT/MRI safety screening.
  • Maintain imaging order build, order questions, and decision support in partnership with the ordering and clinical content teams.
  • Partner with the interface team and imaging vendors to support integrations with PACS, voice recognition and dictation systems, modality worklists, and dose monitoring tools.
  • Coordinate with Cadence (scheduling), Prelude and Grand Central (registration and patient movement), Resolute (billing), ASAP (ED), and ClinDoc/Orders teams so imaging workflows work end to end.
  • Maintain imaging charge build and charge capture accuracy with Revenue Cycle and the chargemaster team.
  • Troubleshoot order, result, and image-availability issues across systems.
  • Take part in workflow design sessions with radiologists, technologists, schedulers, and imaging leaders, and turn their decisions into build.
  • Write and run unit, application, and integrated test scripts, and document and resolve defects.
  • Support training development, dress rehearsals, cutover activities, and at-the-elbow support for go-live and stabilization.
  • Keep build documentation, design decisions, and workflow diagrams up to date.
  • Resolve Radiant incidents and service requests within service level targets, and take part in the on-call rotation.
  • Analyze workflows and reporting data, such as turnaround times, exam volumes, and worklist backlogs, to find improvement opportunities.
  • Evaluate, test, and implement Epic upgrades, new features, and Nova release notes that affect imaging.
  • Build and maintain Radiant reports, dashboards, and Reporting Workbench templates for imaging leaders.
  • Support imaging governance by preparing change requests, presenting build options, and documenting decisions.
  • Help make sure workflows support regulatory and accreditation requirements, such as MQSA for mammography, ACR accreditation, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Follow change control, security, and HIPAA requirements for all build and access changes.
  • Act as a trusted liaison between IT and the imaging departments across AHC facilities.
