About The Position

Adventist Healthcare seeks to hire an experienced Epic Clinical Information System Analyst III for our Beaker Lab Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. This role involves leading advanced analysis and enterprise workflow design, architecting, configuring, building, testing, validating, optimizing, and maintaining Epic functionality and integrated solutions across application and operational boundaries. The analyst will lead the resolution of high-impact, ambiguous, or cross-application incidents and problems, directing root-cause analysis, coordinating responders, developing corrective actions, and communicating through closure. They will plan and lead large or highly complex application projects, upgrades, implementations, and optimization initiatives, establishing approach, scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, testing strategy, implementation readiness, and outcome measures. This position serves as a senior liaison and subject matter expert for operational leaders, governance bodies, Epic representatives, end users, vendors, and technical and application teams, facilitating decisions and escalating issues through defined governance channels. The role establishes and reinforces standards for application design, build, integrated testing, change control, documentation, release readiness, data validation, and production support, performing quality review of complex work. Additionally, the analyst will mentor and develop other analysts, coordinate shared work, provide technical direction, and lead knowledge transfer, training, and support-readiness activities. They will evaluate emerging capabilities, regulatory and patient-safety requirements, operational performance, and user feedback to recommend enterprise improvements and sustainable Epic solutions. The role provides leadership with concise status, risk, dependency, budget or resource, and milestone reporting, and participates in go-lives, upgrades, downtimes, and major-event support outside normal business hours. Specific responsibilities include Beaker Build and Configuration (testing, panels, reference ranges, specimen collection and labeling, instruments and quality control, Clinical Pathology including microbiology, and Anatomic Pathology cases), Integration and Cross-Application Coordination (Lab instruments and middleware, reference labs, blood bank systems, public health reporting, working with Orders, ClinDoc, ASAP, Ambulatory, Cadence, and Resolute teams), Implementation, Testing, and Go-Live Support (design sessions, test scripts, instrument validation, and support for go-live and stabilization), Production Support and Optimization (Incidents, on-call, turnaround time and specimen rejection analysis, upgrades, and lab reports), and Regulatory Compliance and Governance (CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and HIPAA requirements and follow plus change control processes).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in healthcare, information systems, business, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • 7-8 years of direct clinical, healthcare operations, clinical information systems, application support, or related experience, including substantial experience leading complex implementations, upgrades, optimization, or production support in an integrated EHR environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large workstreams, directing cross-functional teams, and mentoring analysts is required.
  • Must be able to maintain required Epic credentials and participate in travel, on-call coverage, and extended-hour support for major projects and operational events as business needs require.

Responsibilities
