About The Position

The EHR Applications Analyst will have primary responsibility for requirement gathering, design, build/configuration, testing, validation and ongoing support of their assigned Epic application(s) and third-party systems related to those applications. The Analyst will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining in depth knowledge of the software functionality and acquiring/utilizing knowledge of the operational workflows to be implemented with the Epic system. The Analyst will be responsible for coordinating aspects of planning, design, development, implementation, adoption, communication, maintenance and evaluation of existing or new functionality related to Epic and related information systems. Responsible for managing projects related to Epic and related third party systems. Participates in on-call rotation including weekend and after-hours coverage as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Business, IT or Healthcare Related field required or 2 years of IT or healthcare experience in lieu of degree.
  • Relevant job-related certifications with Epic application certification within 90 days of hire, as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Requirement gathering, design, build/configuration, testing, validation and ongoing support of assigned Epic application(s) and third-party systems.
  • Obtaining and maintaining in-depth knowledge of software functionality and operational workflows.
  • Coordinating planning, design, development, implementation, adoption, communication, maintenance, and evaluation of Epic and related information systems.
  • Managing projects related to Epic and related third-party systems.
  • Participating in on-call rotation, including weekend and after-hours coverage.
  • Understanding the organization, users, and workflow in the analyst’s assigned area.
  • Leading meetings, prioritizing, resolving conflicts, managing issues, and overseeing the implementation of project plans.
  • Working with Epic TS and related Epic Application Analysts to manage complex issues and optimization.
  • Probing for information about the underlying needs of the organization and user community to influence system build.
  • Thoroughly reviewing, analyzing, and testing every system change, following proper change control processes.
  • Assisting in the development, implementation, education, evaluation, maintenance, and coordination of Epic and related applications.
  • Assisting with and/or developing tip sheets or training documentation for new or changed workflows.
  • Communicating specific information related to their application to department leadership and application users.
  • Maintaining an Epic user web account to access group discussions, white papers, training documents, new version training material, and release notes.
  • Attending webinars, seminars, and workshops to learn about new developments and changing technology trends.
  • Participating in testing new vendor-provided software in a test environment.
  • Maintaining contacts with Epic partner and related vendors.
  • Attending product demonstrations, user group meetings, and Epic-sponsored webinars.
  • Arranging to acquire and install system upgrades.
  • Coordinating and completing assigned projects, including project definition, assignment of task responsibilities, setting deadlines, and all other aspects of project management.
  • Performing other related work as required.
  • Training and mentoring team members.
