About The Position

Join the UChicago Medicine team as a Lead LIS/Epic Beaker Analyst at our Hyde Park campus, with remote work opportunities. In this role, you will guide, prioritize, and ensure the quality of work performed by other business systems/applications analysts. You will define system scope and objectives by understanding both user needs and business application/industry requirements. This involves designing and modifying application configurations and code to address complex challenges, considering both technological and business needs. Responsibilities include analyzing business and user requirements, documenting them, and translating them into system specifications. You will possess full technical knowledge of most system analysis phases and consider the business impact of technology. You will also act as a team leader for projects with moderate budgets or short to intermediate durations.

Requirements

  • Epic Beaker certification
  • BS or BA degree, computer science or business or equivalent relevant certification in healthcare, business management or information systems
  • Minimal of 5 years of experience within an application team, with 2+ years of experience leading an application team
  • Effective project management and team leadership skills are required: development and management of detailed project plans, objectives, control methods, and coordination of project team efforts
  • Demonstrated expertise within a specialized area of information systems software implementation and operational management
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and assess work to meet deadlines and to cope with a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of working well in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team and successfully interacting with others at all levels of the organization, including remote teams
  • Proven ability to manage multiple requests, tasks, and requirements
  • Proven skills in problem solving
  • Experience in business process mapping
  • Experience defining requirements and software development methodologies
  • Ability to correlate between business, functional, and technical requirements
  • Solid interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and effective presentation skills
  • Experience developing presentations for project work
  • Ability to plan and facilitate meetings with diverse participants
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor in both normal and pressure situations

Responsibilities

  • Instruct, direct, and check the work of other business systems/applications analysts
  • Analyze business and user needs and design application configuration and procedures to solve complex business problems given constraints
  • Document requirements and systems flow diagrams
  • Design new application configuration and code to meet business requirements and needs
  • Evaluate business implications of technology on the current business environment
  • Team leader for projects with moderate budgets, mentors and leads other Business System Application Analysts
