About The Position

CTG is seeking an Epic Beacon and HOD Analyst to join our team. The Epic Beacon & HOD Analyst will provide application support, build expertise, and workflow optimization for two key Epic modules: Beacon (oncology) and Hospital Outpatient Departments (HOD). This role supports oncology treatment planning, infusion workflows, and outpatient clinical operations by ensuring the Epic system is stable, efficient, and aligned with clinical and operational needs. The analyst partners with oncology clinicians, infusion nurses, outpatient departments, and IT teams to deliver high‑quality support and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Epic certification or accreditation in Beacon, HOD, or related modules (or willingness to obtain within required timeframe).
  • Experience supporting Epic applications in a clinical or IT environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical, operational, and technical teams.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities across two application areas.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize Beacon treatment plans, regimens, protocols, and chemotherapy workflows.
  • Support oncology providers, infusion nurses, and pharmacists with build updates, troubleshooting, and workflow enhancements.
  • Ensure safe medication ordering through decision support, dose calculations, and protocol validation.
  • Assist with staging documentation, oncology care pathways, and treatment plan versioning.
  • Participate in testing and validation for upgrades, new regimens, and safety‑related changes.
  • Support outpatient clinical workflows including scheduling, registration, documentation, orders, and charge capture.
  • Maintain HOD department build, visit types, workqueues, and operational configurations.
  • Collaborate with outpatient leadership to streamline workflows and improve patient throughput.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to outpatient encounters, routing, and departmental workflows.
  • Provide tier‑2/3 support for Beacon and HOD end‑users, resolving incidents and service requests.
  • Analyze root causes and implement long‑term solutions to reduce recurring issues.
  • Coordinate with Epic TS, internal teams, and technical resources for escalated issues.
  • Maintain strong communication with clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Perform system build, configuration, and maintenance following Epic and organizational standards.
  • Support release management, including upgrade planning, regression testing, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate build documentation and participate in change control processes.
  • Conduct workflow assessments and recommend improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and user satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with oncology, outpatient, pharmacy, and revenue cycle teams to align system build with operational goals.
  • Support training teams with content development, tip sheets, and communication for new features or workflow changes.
  • Contribute to new program rollouts, optimization initiatives, and cross‑functional projects.
  • Assist with requirements gathering, design sessions, testing, and go‑live support.
  • Work with reporting teams to support data needs for oncology and outpatient operations.
