About The Position

The Epic Applications Analyst keeps PCHC’s electronic health record working for the people who use it every day, including providers, nurses, front desk staff, billing teams, and the patients they serve. This role troubleshoots issues, configures workflows, and partners with operational leaders to make Epic safer, faster, and easier to use across clinical care, revenue cycle, and front desk operations. The role serves as PCHC’s primary point of contact with OCHIN for support and configuration, manages tickets through OCHIN, and supports basic data reporting for clinical operations, revenue cycle, and quality measurement.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in HIM, Healthcare Administration, IT, Business, or related field; bachelor’s preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • 1-2 years of EHR support or equivalent operational experience in a clinical or revenue cycle setting; Epic experience strongly preferred.
  • FQHC, community health, or OCHIN-hosted Epic experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance as required by law.
  • Working knowledge of Epic across clinical and revenue cycle modules.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, billing compliance, HRSA UDS reporting, and AAAHC accreditation.
  • Familiarity with peripheral devices used in clinical and front desk environments.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; excellent communication; collaborative, service-oriented approach with discretion in handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support for Epic clinical applications and revenue cycle applications, including end-user mobile solutions and patient-facing portals.
  • Partner with clinical and revenue cycle leadership on configuration changes affecting documentation workflows, controlled medication workflows, clinical decision support, registration, insurance verification, billing, and claims.
  • Provide secondary support for front desk, HIM workflows, and integration with third-party partners and external platforms.
  • Primary point of contact with OCHIN for support, configuration, and issue resolution; submit and manage tickets; use OCHIN-provided platforms and resources to support daily operations.
  • Coordinate clinical and revenue cycle components of OCHIN Epic upgrades, including pre-upgrade testing, change communication, and post-upgrade validation, complete user acceptance testing for all release notes.
  • Participate in PCHC’s Epic Change Management Process and OCHIN ESA workgroups and training as able.
  • Run and maintain reports using Epic’s standard reporting tools to support clinical operations, revenue cycle, and quality measurement.
  • Support HRSA UDS reporting, AAAHC accreditation evidence, and internal dashboards.
  • Build ad hoc reports for leaders; escalate complex queries to OCHIN.
  • Manage user provisioning, role assignments, security templates, and offboarding; build and maintain provider preference lists, documentation templates, and order sets.
  • Provide first-line end-user support, supplemental training, and reference materials; deliver coaching one-on-one and in groups, in person, virtually, or by phone.
  • Partner with PCHC IT on workstation configuration, peripheral devices, network connectivity, and infrastructure issues affecting Epic operation.
  • Coordinate consultations and meetings (logistics, communications, content, follow-up); identify Epic optimization opportunities and contribute to development of evaluation methods to assess program strengths and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain EHR Support Analyst training and continuing education requirements.
