About The Position

The Environmental Technician plays a critical role in supporting environmental protection and compliance efforts by conducting field sampling and monitoring activities. This position involves collecting and analyzing water, air, soil, and groundwater samples to assess environmental quality and identify potential contamination. The technician ensures that all sampling and monitoring procedures comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and standards. By maintaining accurate records and preparing detailed reports, the technician contributes to the development of effective environmental management strategies. Ultimately, this role supports the organization's commitment to safeguarding natural resources and public health through diligent environmental monitoring and compliance.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with water sampling, air monitoring, soil sampling, and groundwater sampling techniques.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste handling and environmental compliance regulations.
  • Familiarity with underground storage tank inspection and solid waste management practices.
  • Ability to work safely in field environments and follow established safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct water, air, soil, and groundwater sampling in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
  • Perform air monitoring and hazardous waste assessments to identify potential environmental risks.
  • Inspect and monitor underground storage tanks and solid waste management sites to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain and calibrate field equipment to guarantee accurate data collection.
  • Document sampling activities and prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and observations.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists and regulatory agencies to support environmental compliance initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of environmental monitoring plans and corrective action measures.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines during all field operations.
