About The Position

The Environmental Technician II performs routine and frequent manual and heavy labor to treat, store, pack, move, and/or dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with environmentally responsible and cost-effective practices and Clean Earth policies and procedures. The role may involve operating heavy equipment when properly trained, collecting inbound waste samples for laboratory analysis, completing required paperwork, and preparing materials for transport and disposal. Other reasonably related tasks may be assigned by management.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• Ability to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to wear company-provided personal protective equipment, including eye protection, steel-toed shoes, a hard hat, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and a respirator.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of experience sampling and receiving hazardous waste.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and operate fork trucks and other heavy equipment, when properly trained, to move materials for storage, loading and off-loading, or production.
• Collect samples of inbound waste for laboratory analysis.
• Complete required paperwork in accordance with company practices and procedures.
• Separate and pack materials for transport and disposal.
• Perform other reasonably related tasks and duties as assigned by management.
