About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking an Environmental Technician I to join their Environmental team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is an entry-level position supporting environmental consulting work, including asbestos, indoor air quality, lead-based paint, and mold-related tasks. The role involves conducting surveys, monitoring, and sampling, as well as performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II/Subsurface Investigations. The technician will be responsible for composing and reviewing field documentation and reports, communicating with clients and regulatory agencies, and participating in QA/QC and Safety Programs. This position may require some off-shift and overtime work, as well as occasional travel.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent required
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements
• Must be able to read and understand scope of work / work plans
• Must be able to work off shifts and overtime and willing to work out of town
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record required

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree or BS in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field
• Experience in environmental consulting services
• Asbestos and Industrial Hygiene experience and license

• Communicate with clients and regulatory agencies to keep projects moving and on schedule
• Participate in all QA/QC programs as appropriate and Safety Programs
