Environmental System Test Engineer II

AeroVironment•Moorpark, CA
•$82,000 - $125,000

About The Position

The Environmental System Test Engineer II develops and executes System Test Plans for small unmanned air vehicles, missiles, and associated subsystems. Testing includes simulator, ground, and flight tests, along with logging and analyzing data and documenting test results. The role supports environmental test and evaluation of subsystems and model-scale and full-scale systems. The engineer determines and communicates test objectives, develops test cards and procedures, reviews system requirements for testability, and participates in readiness reviews, test briefs, and debriefings. The engineer prepares test assets, processes and analyzes test data, records activities and anomalies, reports results, and determines regression and troubleshooting tests. The role also includes estimating testing time, completing work to project schedules, and working with outside test laboratories. The position receives general instructions on routine work and more detailed instructions on new projects, and operates under moderate supervision. It handles problems of moderate scope, exercises judgment within defined procedures, and contributes to project cost and schedule objectives. The role requires 10–30% travel within the Continental U.S. and access to export-controlled information, with U.S.-person or export-license eligibility required. Some positions may require current U.S. citizenship due to contract requirements.
