The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for performing complete cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, sanitizing, washing surfaces, sweeping, scrubbing, refinishing floors, vacuuming, shampooing carpet, re-stocking restrooms, replacing light bulbs, and reporting repairs. The role may also involve outdoor cleaning and the use of ladders. The position requires heavy contact with cleaning chemicals and disinfecting agents. Waste removal includes collecting soiled linen, emptying trash, changing sharps containers, transporting waste, recycling, and emptying cigarette receptacles. The technician must keep equipment clean and orderly, report failures, and maintain a safe working environment by complying with procedures, infection control guidelines, and departmental quality standards. Attendance at required in-service education and training classes is mandatory. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.
