About The Position

The Environmental Services Technician (EVS)/Housekeeping position is based at Select Specialty Hospital – Akron in Akron, Ohio. This per diem/PRN, as-needed role maintains cleanliness, sanitation, order, and appearance throughout assigned hospital areas. It involves routine housekeeping and light manual work, including cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and equipment, caring for floors and furnishings, handling linens and waste, and replenishing supplies. The position requires customer-service excellence in interactions with patients, families, visitors, and staff. Compensation is $17.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Previous housekeeping experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• High school degree or equivalent preferred.
• Previous hospital EVS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate customer-service excellence in interactions with patients, family members, visitors, and staff.
• Maintain a clean work environment in assigned areas, which may include patient rooms, offices, nurses’ stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.
• Help maintain the hospital’s overall sanitation, order, and appearance.
• Perform routine housekeeping tasks according to established schedules and procedures.
• Wash furnishings, floors, and equipment using cleaning solutions and disinfectants to help prevent the spread of disease.
• Dust window sills, blinds, floors, and furniture; vacuum; empty ashtrays and trash buckets; and arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly manner.
• Make beds with clean linen, clean and polish sinks, tubs, mirrors, and similar equipment, and replenish soap, towels, and other dispensable supplies.
