About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Gulf Coast is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Environmental Services Technician helps maintain a clean, sanitary, orderly, and presentable hospital environment while demonstrating customer service excellence in interactions with patients, family members, visitors, and staff. The position is full-time and located in Gulfport, Mississippi, with compensation of $14.76 to $18.00 per hour.

Requirements

Previous housekeeping experience is required.

Nice To Haves

High school degree or equivalent preferred.
Previous hospital environmental services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate customer service excellence in interactions with patients, family members, visitors, and staff.
Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas, which may include patient rooms, offices, nurse’s stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobbies.
Help maintain the overall sanitation, order, and appearance of the hospital.
Perform routine housekeeping tasks according to established schedules and procedures.
Clean assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors, and equipment with cleaning solutions and disinfectants to help prevent the spread of disease.
Dust window sills, blinds, floors, and furniture using dust cloths and a vacuum cleaner; empty ashtrays and trash buckets; and arrange furniture and equipment orderly.
Make beds with clean linen as prescribed; scour and polish sinks, tubs, mirrors, and similar equipment; and replenish soap, towels, and other dispensable supplies.
