About The Position

Hospitality Health ER is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and team members. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility while following infection prevention standards and safety guidelines. Your work directly contributes to patient safety, comfort, and the overall experience of everyone who enters our emergency room. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and takes pride in maintaining a healthcare environment that reflects our commitment to exceptional hospitality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, pull, and move equipment throughout the shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms, treatment areas, restrooms, waiting areas, offices, and common spaces following infection control standards.
  • Perform terminal cleaning of patient rooms and prepare them for new patients while adhering to isolation precautions when applicable.
  • Safely collect, transport, and dispose of trash, biohazardous waste, and contaminated materials according to established procedures.
  • Dust, mop, vacuum, scrub, and sanitize floors, furniture, fixtures, windows, walls, vents, and other surfaces throughout the facility.
  • Operate and properly maintain environmental services equipment, including floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, and carpet shampooers.
  • Stock and distribute linens and supplies throughout the facility while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
  • Assemble supply packs and organize linen carts for efficient departmental distribution.
  • Assist with moving furniture and equipment as needed to support cleaning and operational needs.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and promptly report equipment issues, maintenance concerns, or safety hazards.
  • Support emergency preparedness efforts, including assisting with evacuations and maintaining safe building entrances during inclement weather.
  • Communicate concerns, accidents, or policy violations promptly to leadership.
