About The Position

Shriners Children’s is seeking an Environmental Services Technician II. The organization provides pediatric specialty care and values compassion, integrity, accountability, resilience, evidence-based practice, innovation, and critical thinking. The role supports staffing needs and quality improvement, performs floor-care duties, and follows infection-control and safety procedures throughout the medical center. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the supervisor as needed and as delegated.
• Help maintain effective and efficient utilization of department staff.
• Help maintain standards that ensure high-quality service.
• Remain available to meet staffing requirements due to vacations or other staffing emergencies.
• Participate in departmental Quality Improvement projects.
• Sweep, damp-mop, and vacuum floors and spot-clean carpets.
• Polish, strip, and refinish hard floors; clean carpets as needed.
• Use chemicals appropriately and safely, and understand the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) program.
• Properly and safely handle, transport, and dispose of trash, regulated medical waste, hazardous waste, and soiled linen.
• Use signs and other safety precautions, including personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Use proper safety techniques when lifting, pushing, and pulling to prevent injury to self or others, in accordance with department procedures.
• Follow department procedures to clean and disinfect all areas of the medical center.
