About The Position

The Environmental Services Tech II performs a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas of the facility, using standard infection control practices and procedures.

Requirements

• One year of Environmental Services experience.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Wet-mop patient care areas; damp-dust furniture and fixtures; and clean air ducts and vents.
• Perform terminal cleaning in operating suites before and after each surgical procedure and at the end of each day.
• Clean and disinfect fixtures, equipment, floors, doors, and walls using a clean, lint-free cloth and an EPA-registered hospital-grade germicidal agent.
• Follow required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing of, or moving infectious materials in accordance with the OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard.
• Clean patient transport vehicles, including non-disposable straps and attachments, using a cloth moistened with an EPA-registered hospital-grade germicidal agent.
• Clean surgical support areas daily and as needed, including locker rooms, staff lounge, storage areas, preop holding, post-anesthesia care, and central sterile processing.
• Deliver linens according to pre-established par levels.
• Use, clean, and properly maintain equipment and tools.
• Communicate infection control issues to the OR Director and/or EVS Supervisor.
