This role is responsible for thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including furniture, tile, fixtures, windows, sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, showers, etc. The technician will perform high and low dusting, mop floors, clean elevators and stairs, door frames, ceiling vents, and vacuum carpets. Adherence to all organizational policies, procedures, isolation procedures, and Infection Prevention Standards is required. Knowledge of correct chemicals for different pathogens is essential. The role involves maintaining EVS closets, carts, and equipment, reporting safety hazards, and managing supplies. Replenishing paper, soap, and hand sanitizer, as well as hanging cubicles/drapes, are also key duties. Special projects may be assigned, requiring coordination with affected departments and posting informational signs. The technician will move furniture, supplies, and equipment following safety and lifting procedures, seeking assistance when needed. Proper mixing and storage of chemicals, using personal protective equipment, and understanding dilution ratios are critical. The role includes making beds, utilizing bed tracking systems, responding to calls, and ensuring dismissal rooms are ready. Use of the Xenex UV Light robot may be required. Returning soiled and clean mops, adhering to regulations, and proper handling, transport, and disposal of various waste types (hazardous, infectious, sharps, confidential, recycling, regular trash, universal) are also part of the responsibilities. DOT Certification for packaging and transporting regulated medical waste is required.
