About The Position

Corewell Health is hiring an Environmental Services Tech to help provide high-quality care by keeping assigned areas clean, disinfected, stocked, and well maintained. The role includes removing medical waste, trash, and linens; maintaining floors, carpets, and upholstery; and communicating and collaborating with team members to coordinate services. The employee will be fully trained and supported, and no prior experience is required. The position is based at Grosse Pointe Hospital and may require work across department sites to meet coverage and business needs. It is full-time, with 40 scheduled hours per week, Monday through Friday, on the evening shift.

Nice To Haves

• Public service or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assemble, maintain, and store equipment and supplies needed to complete tasks according to department standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Report general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in the work area.
• Assist visitors and employees with navigating the hospital.
• Function fully within one cleaning area and work across department sites when needed for coverage and business needs.
• Participate in safety initiatives and risk-mitigation measures, and complete position- and unit-related safety competencies and requirements on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
