About The Position

Provide a consistently clean, comfortable, and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff by cleaning and sanitizing rooms and furnishings in assigned work areas as trained. Collect soiled linen, wash, dry, fold and distribute according to established policies& procedures, maintain established standards for quality control and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, trade school graduate.
• Ability to understand Housekeeping/Laundry procedures and machine operation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer skills.
• Must be able to deal effectively in stressful, short notice situations.
• May be required to bend, stoop and lift up to 50lbs daily.
• Accepts responsibility to wear personal protective gear as appropriate
• Are regularly exposed to contaminants, diseases and or infections. They work with cleaning chemical and clean soiled items.
• Work with or near potentially hazardous substances
• Lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, throwing, dragging; either in single movements or repeated short bursts
• Bending, stretching, twisting, reaching, stooping, balancing, squatting, climbing, crawling, kneeling and assuming crouched body positions
• Coordinated, skillful movements of fingers, hands, and arms, and unusually light or firm gripping
• Perform tasks requiring visual color discrimination, depth perception, distinguish and identify sounds and voices in a noisy environment distinguish location of non-speech sounds, hear and distinguish low frequency or quiet sounds, detect odors and aromas, project a voice that can be heard over loud noises, and be conscious or perceive objects or their qualities through touch
• Perform tasks where body may come into contact with vibration, moving objects (machinery, vehicle’s, etc.), heat, fire or steam, electricity, and hand and/or power tools

Responsibilities

• Perform daily housekeeping duties in assigned work areas according to established policy and procedures.
• Removes and handles Bio Hazards waste according to established procedures.
• Cross trains in all assigned departmental areas of the Facility.
• Performs various cleaning duties P.T., O.P., and Primary Care Clinic.
• Perform laundry duties that are required daily to provide clean and safe laundry for our customers.
• Maintain inventory of house linens; and housekeeping supplies in assigned J-Closet.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
