About The Position

Wellfound is hiring a 0.75 FTE night Environmental Services Tech to help maintain a clean and sanitary environment throughout Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital, including patient care areas, administrative areas, and floors. The role consists of three 10-hour shifts per week, and the employee must be able to work all days of the week. Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital is a 120-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital in Tacoma, Washington, providing acute psychiatric care to voluntary and involuntary patients. The hospital is accredited by the Department of Health and The Joint Commission.

Requirements

Effective oral and written English communication skills to perform the job.
Ability to independently use a computer and enter data multiple times per day.
Heart Saver certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Experience in environmental services in a healthcare or hotel setting.
Must be able to work all days of the week.
Join the SEIU Union within 30 calendar days of employment and remain a member in good standing, unless approved for a religious exemption.

Responsibilities

Use appropriate cleaning techniques, supplies, and safety precautions to clean assigned areas and equipment.
Follow and demonstrate knowledge of infection-control policies and procedures for maintaining the patient-care environment.
Dispose of regular, recyclable, and regulated medical waste appropriately, following regulatory waste-segregation requirements.
Use a computer and EPIC to track individual progress and work completed throughout the day.
Work with other staff to exchange routine information, submit work orders, request supplies, and schedule maintenance.
Follow HIPAA and privacy laws.
