About The Position

As an Environmental Service Technician at Corewell Health, you help support high-quality patient care by cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas, removing medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining floors, carpets, and upholstery. You will communicate and collaborate with team members to coordinate services and support a positive work environment. No experience is required; training and support are provided, with opportunities to learn and develop new skills.

The position is based at Troy Hospital and is part-time, with 20 scheduled hours per week. The evening shift runs from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., on variable days, with every other weekend required. Team members may be expected to work across department sites to meet coverage and business needs.

Requirements

• Ability to read and follow instructions.

Nice To Haves

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Public service or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assemble, maintain, and store equipment and supplies according to department standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Report general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in the work area.
• Assist visitors and employees with navigating the hospital.
• Work within an assigned cleaning area and, when needed, across department sites for coverage and business needs.
• Participate in safety initiatives and risk-mitigation measures, and complete required position and unit safety competencies on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
