Environmental Services Tech Housekeeping PRN
About The Position
This position performs general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. It is a PRN, on-call, as-needed position requiring flexibility to cover days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The role cleans and disinfects assigned areas, uses cleaning chemicals and disposes of infectious waste according to applicable procedures and standards, handles emergency spills, follows infection prevention practices, and maintains work and storage areas safely. The position is located at Intermountain Health Orem Community Hospital in Orem, Utah. The listed hourly range is $17.68–$22.99, with the actual rate dependent on experience.
Requirements
- Demonstrated communication skills, including differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals and following written and/or verbal directions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet department needs.

Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
- Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
- Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash.
- Handle and clean up emergency spills according to department guidelines and Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
- Follow infection prevention practices, including cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain work and storage areas according to established policies and procedures to ensure safety.
