About The Position

This position performs general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. The role works at both American Fork Hospital and Saratoga Springs Clinic in American Fork, Utah. The schedule is 40 hours per week, from 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with a rotating schedule that includes some weekends and holidays. Evening, night, weekend, and holiday shift differentials are provided. The hourly range is $17.68–$22.99, with the actual rate dependent upon experience.

Requirements

• Demonstrated communication skills, including the ability to differentiate color-coded labels and/or chemicals and follow written and/or verbal directions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet department needs.
• Ability to see and read information, labels, and monitors; identify equipment and supplies; and assess customer needs.
• Ability to communicate and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
• Ability to lift and use a full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment, and to work on hands and knees and bend to set up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect assigned areas according to department cleaning procedures.
• Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Follow procedures for disposing of infectious waste and trash.
• Handle and clean up emergency spills according to department guidelines and Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Follow infection prevention practices, including cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain work and storage areas according to established policies and procedures to ensure safety.
