About The Position

UPMC Chautauqua is hiring a full-time Environmental Services Supervisor. The supervisor coordinates and oversees housekeeping activities, provides direct supervision to cleaning crews, and manages personnel efficiency and performance. The position works either 9:00 p.m.–5:30 a.m. or 11:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m., with occasional weekend and holiday coverage required. At least two years of previous experience is required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of housekeeping or laundry supervision experience.
Excellent knowledge of housekeeping work plans.
Computer skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
CQI skills.
NYS Staff Exclusion List (NYSEL) clearance.

Responsibilities

Maintain communication and act as a liaison between shifts and departments to support smooth operations and continuity of work.
Apply situational leadership and transformational leadership principles.
Participate in and attend system, hospital, and nursing committees as required, and model and develop staff through these mechanisms.
Evaluate employees and supervise the completion of personnel reports and employee evaluations.
Inspect and evaluate the hospital’s physical condition and recommend improvements such as painting, wallpapering, or furnishings to support sanitation, appearance, and efficiency.
Maintain adequate quantities of essential operating supplies and equipment; stay informed about new technology and regularly evaluate current trends.
Plan work schedules and assign work hours and areas to ensure adequate service throughout the hospital.
Check assigned areas to ensure work is completed, schedules are followed, and setups and moves are handled.
Participate in Human Resources functions, including hiring, termination, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and counseling.
Instruct and train employees in cleaning methods and project work.
