About The Position

The Environmental Services Supervisor position consists in effectively coordinating employees, work and performance expectations in order to comply with the goals and mission of the Environmental Services Department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalency required.
  • Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institution setting.

Nice To Haves

  • one (1) to two (2) years supervisory experience in housekeeping preferred.
  • Supervisor is subject to on call status for hospital or departmental emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.
  • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrates/models the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
  • Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.
  • Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.
  • Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.
  • Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
  • Interviews prospective Environmental Services aides and makes selection for hire.
  • Evaluates Environmental Services aides for work quality, quantity and performance of work schedule, making adjustments when needed to insure consistent quality cleaning.
  • Administers annual performance evaluations for Environmental Services aides.
