About The Position

The Resource Center has been providing services to persons with disabilities in the Chautauqua County area since 1958. From its humble beginnings as a gathering of parents and concerned citizens who wanted to provide educational and training opportunities for persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities, The Resource Center has grown into a comprehensive agency providing services to thousands of persons with all types and levels of disabilities. The Resource Center is the largest non-governmental employer in Chautauqua County with more than 1,300 employees on its payroll. The mission of The Resource Center is to support individuals with disabilities and other challenges in achieving maximum independence, contributing to their community, experiencing lifelong growth, and enjoying quality of life.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of custodial and lawn care practices and equipment
  • Working knowledge of principles of supervising disabled adults in a work environment
  • Ability to supervise other aides
  • Ability to direct the work of assigned crews
  • Ability to keep records and make reports as necessary
  • Physical condition to commensurate with the demands of the job
  • A High School diploma or GED
  • A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of custodial and lawn care experience

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a working lead person for a crew of clients performing on or off-site environmental services.
  • Supervises, through environmental aide any assigned custodial crews or lawn care crews.
  • Directs the activities of client workers assigned to the crew, ensuring that proper custodial or lawn care procedures are followed.
  • Acts as first-line customer contact to assure that all customer’s needs are met.
  • Directs the daily activities of any assigned sides and their crews.
  • Orders supplies as needed and maintains proper records of such.
  • Consults with Environmental Services Coordinator concerning performance and operations problems.
  • Consults with clients’ case managers regularly concerning client problems and progress.
  • Implements and monitors client behavioral modification plans when necessary.
  • Participates in regular client reviews with clients and case managers.
  • Participates in evaluation of hourly paid clients to determine commensurate wage.
  • Records production payroll into the system so that clients are paid correctly.
  • Responsible for the location of all assigned clients during work hours including breaks and specific lunch periods.
  • Performs other duties as required.
