About The Position
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, is hiring a Full-time Supervisor, Environmental Services. This role involves assisting the manager in planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating, and controlling the activities of the department to maintain a clean and safe working environment. The Supervisor will participate in work activities of assigned teams by providing assistance, serving as a technical resource, and working as a team member. This position contributes to the department's success through effective work coordination, resource management, and goal accomplishment, while supporting and communicating Sentara's mission, values, goals, and directions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- 1 Year Supervisory Experience (Required)
- CHEST certification required for all existing staff by 7/31/2019. New employees hired after 8/1/2016 required to have CHEST within 2 years of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Some College is preferred.
- 2+ years supervisory experience preferred.
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
- 2 Years Supervisory Experience (Strongly Preferred)
- Environmental/Service Associate/Hospitality Experience (Preferred)
- Microsoft Office Skills (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Assist the manager in planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating, and controlling the activities of the department functions.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Participate in the work activities of assigned teams through providing assistance, serving as a technical resource, and participating in the work as a member of the team.
- Contribute to the success of the department through effective work coordination, management of resources, and participation in goal accomplishment.
- Support and communicate Sentara mission, values, goals, and directions to assigned team members.
