About The Position

As an Environmental Services Supervisor joining our team, you’re embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier. This role oversees the facility’s environmental services (EVS) operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The supervisor is responsible for managing EVS personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and corrective actions. They ensure all areas of the hospital are cleaned according to established schedules and infection control standards, perform and oversee floor care, and operate cleaning equipment. Additionally, the supervisor conducts facility inspections, schedules staff, develops training programs, participates in safety initiatives, and ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Customer service experience or aptitude required to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and the public.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an administrative or receptionist role preferred; student experience in higher education considered.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the facility’s environmental services (EVS) operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Supervises EVS personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and corrective action in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Ensures patient rooms, restrooms, lounges, offices, corridors, walls, and windows are cleaned according to established schedules and infection control standards.
  • Performs and oversees floor care activities such as vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping; ensures restrooms are stocked and fixtures are properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Operates and maintains cleaning equipment and machinery, including vacuums, mini extractors, and hand trucks.
  • Conducts routine inspections of the facility to evaluate cleanliness and physical condition; recommends repairs, painting, and space utilization improvements as needed.
  • Schedules EVS staff to maintain appropriate coverage throughout the hospital.
  • Develops and implements orientation and ongoing training programs to support staff competency and performance.
  • Participates in hospital safety initiatives and committees.
  • Ensures compliance with JCAHO, federal, state, and local regulations and cleanliness standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
