About The Position

The Environmental Services Quality Assurance gathers feedback from patients on Environmental Services (EVS) services, documents and provides feedback to EVS leadership. This role assists the supervisors in start-up and check out of each shift, special projects, relief coverage, training, and orientation of staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year related experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and other applicable software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal that present clear and concise information.
  • Effective analytical, data analyzing, and documentation skills.
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
  • Sound ability to maintain professional and courteous and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in adynamic work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Customer Service or Housekeeping, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews patients prior to discharge about EVS experience.
  • Documents responses and follows up on any deficiencies noted.
  • Provides feedback on EVS services to EVS Leadership for process improvement.
  • Assists supervisors in the training and orientation of new employees in cleaning general areas, occupied rooms and dismissal cleans.
  • Helps monitor employee performance and assists with lost and found item requests.
  • Assists with coordinating various aspects of coverage to maintain quality and quantity of environmental services provided.
  • Prepares daily assignment sheets and adjusts staffing daily as needed.
  • Assists with cleaning assignments during periods of short staffing.
  • Oversees special projects as assigned by the supervisor or manager including renovations clean up, patient room requests, and floor and carpet care.
  • Moves beds, chairs, equipment and tables to various areas throughout the hospital.
  • Coordinates EPIC bed board activities by operating bed tracking software and dispatching rooms to ensure timely patient flow.
  • Assists the supervisors by inspecting areas for cleanliness, reporting maintenance deficiencies, submitting work orders, correcting cleaning deficiencies and following up with employees.
  • Performs 20 quality checks per month in coordination with Supervisor, Environmental Services.
  • Supports department/hospital goals through educational activities by attending mandatory in-services and completing required trainings.
  • Helps to ensure a positive workplace environment for all staff including encouraging and recognizing the positive attributes of others.
  • Assists with the coordination and delivery of EVS supplies.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and organization of the Environmental Services supply rooms including accurate and timely paper and chemical supply inventories.
