About The Position

The Environmental Services Director provides leadership and oversight for the hospital’s Environmental Services Department, ensuring a clean, safe, sanitary, and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution with major emphasis on coursework in business administration or other related field, and two years of supervisory experience in housekeeping; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Selected applicants must be able to pass a State Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Check, and complete and pass BLS/CPR training and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training during orientation.

Knowledgeable of hospital housekeeping with experience and knowledge in infection control, modern cleaning methods and approaches, and equipment use and selection
Knowledgeable of product sections, use, and safety
Experience managing the housekeeping program for a large institutional or commercial setting
Experience developing and delivering staff training
Experience managing bio-hazard disposal
Experience with chemicals and cleaning methodologies for various types of surfaces

Responsibilities

Directly supervise, schedule, and evaluate Environmental Services staff and daily operations including linen, and unit personal care items across the facility.
Manage staffing, recruitment, performance management, disciplinary actions, and other personnel activities.
Develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, organizational charts, and performance plans.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, safety, quality, and compliance standards are met.
Coordinate with various departments and hospital leadership on operational needs.
Manage departmental supplies, equipment, purchasing requests, and budget priorities.
Oversee pest control services and support state health inspections, and regulatory surveys.
Monitor and assign service requests through the Event Tracking system.
Participate in hospital committees and professional development activities.
