The Philadelphia Department of Public Health’s Substance Use Prevention and Harm Reduction Division is seeking an Environmental Services Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of the Division’s environmental services programs, including Block-to-Block (B2B), Project Reach, and Philly Phlush. The Environmental Services Coordinator will assist with daily field coordination, staff scheduling, public restroom operations, syringe collection efforts, neighborhood clean-up activities, volunteer support, supply inventory, documentation, and community response efforts. This position will help ensure that staff and volunteers are trained, supported, and following program expectations, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. The coordinator will also assist with tracking program activity, maintaining accurate records, supporting safe field practices, and communicating operational concerns to the Environmental Services Manager. This role is essential in supporting programs that reduce environmental hazards, address community concerns, improve public spaces, and serve neighborhoods most impacted by substance use, homelessness, and related public health challenges. The Environmental Services Coordinator will report directly to the Environmental Services Manager and work closely with staff across PDPH’s Substance Use Prevention and Harm Reduction Division, the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services, the Opioid Response Unit, community organizations, neighborhood residents, and other city partners.
