About The Position

Environmental Services Associates clean and maintain assigned areas of the organization, including patient rooms, public areas, and service areas. They provide customer service while completing tasks that support departmental and organizational processes. Assignments may be defined by specific jobs or tasks and may include moving beds or furniture, stocking areas, distributing linen, and maintaining storerooms. Associates follow established processes and equipment-use requirements, complete paperwork, and support safety, quality, and efficiency as part of a High Reliability Organization. Requirements

• No degree or diploma is required.
• Individuals age 16 or 17 without a high school diploma or GED must have a valid work permit.
• Individuals age 18 who are enrolled in high school do not need a high school diploma, GED, or work permit to be considered.

Nice To Haves

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred for individuals over 18 who are not enrolled in high school.

Responsibilities

• Obtain assigned cleaning or maintenance requests from an automated system, daily assignment sheet, or verbal direction, and perform assigned duties according to departmental and organizational processes.
• Move beds or furniture as needed to service customers or complete cleaning tasks, and complete paperwork required to monitor departmental statistics.
• Follow directions for proper use and cleanliness of equipment; submit work orders and other required paperwork to address equipment and miscellaneous items throughout the hospital.
• Keep assigned carts and areas stocked to appropriate operating levels, including linen distribution.
• Complete other assigned duties, including storeroom maintenance, to meet hospital cleanliness and safety standards.
• Provide a high level of customer service to patients and other customers throughout OhioHealth.
• Focus on safety, quality, and efficiency while performing job duties.
