About The Position

Environmental Services Associates clean and maintain assigned areas of the organization, including patient rooms, public areas, and service areas. They provide customer service while completing assigned tasks that support departmental and organizational processes. Assignments may be provided through an automated system, a daily assignment sheet, or verbal direction. The role may also involve moving beds or furniture, maintaining stock and linen supplies, and performing other duties needed to meet hospital cleanliness and safety standards. Associates must follow established procedures, use and maintain equipment properly, complete required paperwork, and prioritize safety, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

• No degree or diploma is required.
• Ability to demonstrate skill in reading and following directions.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain assigned cleaning or maintenance requests through the automated system, daily assignment sheet, or verbal direction, and complete work according to departmental and organizational processes.
• Perform other assigned functions, which may include moving beds or furniture to serve customers or complete cleaning tasks.
• Complete paperwork required to monitor departmental statistics.
• Follow directions for proper use and cleanliness of equipment; submit work orders and other required paperwork to report equipment and miscellaneous-item needs throughout the hospital.
• Keep assigned carts and areas stocked to appropriate operating levels, including linen distribution.
• Complete other assigned duties, including storeroom maintenance, to meet hospital cleanliness and safety standards.
• Provide a high level of customer service to patients and other customers throughout the OhioHealth organization.
• Focus on safety, quality, and efficiency while performing job duties.
