About The Position

As an Environmental Services Associate Tech with Corewell Health, you help support high-quality patient care by cleaning and disinfecting assigned work areas, removing medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining floors, carpets, and upholstery. The role requires communication and collaboration with team members to coordinate services and support a positive work environment. No experience is required; training and support are provided, with opportunities to learn new skills and develop your career.

The position is part time, based at Farmington Hills Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The shift is overnight, from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with every other weekend worked. The role may require working across department sites to provide coverage and meet business needs.

Requirements

• Ability to read and follow instructions.

• Public service or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assemble, maintain, and store equipment and supplies according to department standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Report general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in the work area.
• Assist visitors and employees with navigating the hospital.
• Function fully within one cleaning area.
• Work across department sites when needed for coverage or business needs.
• Participate in safety initiatives and risk-mitigation measures, and complete position- and unit-related safety competencies and requirements on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
