About The Position

The Environmental Services Associate Tech cleans and disinfects assigned hospital work areas, removes medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintains floors, carpets, and upholstery. The role supports high-quality patient care through effective communication and collaboration with team members and helps visitors and employees navigate the hospital. No experience is required; training and support are provided, with opportunities to learn new skills and develop a career. The position is based at Farmington Hills Hospital and may require working across department sites for coverage and business needs.

Requirements

• Ability to read and follow instructions.

• Public service or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assemble, maintain, and store equipment and supplies according to department standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Report general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in the work area.
• Assist visitors and employees in navigating the hospital.
• Function fully within one cleaning area.
• Work across department sites for coverage and business needs when expected.
• Participate in safety initiatives and risk-mitigating measures, and complete position- and unit-related safety competencies and requirements on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
