About The Position

As an Environmental Services Aide at Allina Health, you help create a safe, welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The work supports healing and the patient experience by keeping health care facilities clean, organized, and healthy. The role cleans, sanitizes, and disinfects facility areas, including patient rooms, operating rooms, exam rooms, treatment rooms, care centers, and public areas. It also includes collecting and transporting waste and soiled linen, and may include stocking clean linen and maintaining linen inventory. This is a 0.5 FTE position, equivalent to 40 hours per two-week pay period, with permanent evening shifts of eight hours and an every-other-weekend rotation.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and have the education and/or experience needed to meet the required functional competencies, or have six months of similar work experience.
• 0 to 2 years of environmental services experience or a high school diploma/GED.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and disinfect areas of the health care facility.
• Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms, operating rooms, exam rooms, treatment rooms, care centers, and public areas.
• Perform cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, emptying trash, changing bed linen, vacuuming, and operating an auto scrub machine to clean floors.
• Identify and report potential and actual safety hazards.
• Report building items, furnishings, and equipment that need repair or replacement.
• Collect and transport solid and infectious waste within the health care facility.
• Collect soiled linen to prevent accumulation, using safety precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment.
• May stock clean linen in the linen room and departments.
• May maintain appropriate linen inventory levels.
• Use hospital equipment and supplies safely and effectively.
• Keep the cleaning cart organized, clean, and stocked.
• Keep cleaning closets organized and clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
