Environmental Service Specialist (Housekeeper I)-Piedmont Geriatric Hospital
About The Position
This position will maintain hospital facilities in a clean, sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition, to provide a suitable environment for the care of patients and for the work of the hospital staff and employees. The role requires knowledge of cleaning methods, procedures, chemicals, equipment, and supplies used in a healthcare facility, as well as safety practices related to housekeeping duties. The specialist will operate manual and powered cleaning equipment, follow oral and written instructions, perform a variety of tasks, and tolerate contact with cleaning products. Physical requirements include the ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, perform manual labor, and clean in patient-occupied areas.
Requirements
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedure.
- Knowledge of chemicals, equipment, and supplies used in a health care facility.
- Knowledge of safety practices as related to housekeeping duties.
- Working skill in the operation of manual and powered cleaning equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instruction and schedule.
- Ability to perform a variety task and tolerate contact with a variety of cleaning products and solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long period of time, and to perform manual labor.
- Ability to perform cleaning/housekeeping duties in patient occupied area.
- Housekeeping experience in a commercial setting
