About The Position

Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join their team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role involves a significant field component, requiring travel and fieldwork. The Environmental Scientist will support technical project teams and managers on projects ranging from site investigations, excavations, emergency response, operations and maintenance, to remediation activities. Responsibilities include both office and field work, with field work often conducted at project sites with environmentally impacted media (soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, etc.) containing hazardous substances and/or hazardous wastes.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
2 years of related previous work experience

Nice To Haves

OSHA 30 hr Construction Certification
OSHA Site Supervisor Certification
SHA 24-hour New Miner Training

Responsibilities

Participate in all aspects of site investigation and remediation projects
Communicate and work closely with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies
Perform fieldwork which may include drilling oversight for soil sampling and/or groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, excavation oversight, emergency response, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, and vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys
Assisting with writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memorandum
Office work may include task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file review, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget
Conduct project-related research (historical data, regulations, etc.)
Prepare periodic status/program reports
Analyze and interpret field data and subcontractor oversight
