About The Position

St. Germain is seeking an Environmental Scientist with approximately 2–3 years of experience who wants to broaden their technical skills, gain exposure to diverse environmental projects, and continue building a career in environmental consulting. You’ll work alongside experienced environmental professionals while supporting private, public, and industrial clients. The role includes meaningful fieldwork and exposure to both Environmental Assessment and Remediation (EAR) and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) projects. Requirements

  • Approximately 2–3 years of environmental, consulting, field, compliance, or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, or another related science field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning new technical and compliance systems.
  • A developing foundation in critical thinking, technical writing, organization, and professional communication.
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions, solve problems, collaborate with others, and take increasing ownership of assignments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • A valid U.S. driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental fieldwork, including the collection of soil, groundwater, vapor, stormwater, and wastewater samples.
  • Support underground storage tank closure assessments by coordinating with contractors, collecting soil samples, and assisting with reports prepared in accordance with applicable state requirements.
  • Perform groundwater monitoring at commercial and industrial sites, organize and evaluate field data, identify trends, and contribute to clear summary reports.
  • Participate in environmental due diligence through site reconnaissance, interviews, regulatory research, and preparation of reports consistent with current ASTM standards.
  • Support stormwater compliance through rain-event sampling, facility inspections, data review, and preparation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans.
  • Collect wastewater samples, assist with discharge permit applications, and review monitoring data for permit compliance.
  • Use Sentry EHS, our cloud-based compliance tracking system, to help clients organize regulatory tasks, due dates, responsibilities, and reporting requirements.
  • Learn how client operations generate hazardous waste and assist with proper characterization, handling, storage, and disposal practices.
  • Research proposed and final environmental regulations and help translate regulatory requirements into practical guidance for clients.
  • Collect and organize client information for annual chemical inventory reporting.
