About The Position

RK&K is seeking an Environmental Scientist I to specialize in the management of projects that improve our environment. This role supports construction management and inspection efforts on construction projects. The ideal candidate will be versatile, self-sufficient, and motivated, with an environmental or engineering background, technical acumen, and the soft skills necessary to effectively manage construction projects in sensitive locations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection and/or management.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding environmental compliance.
Ability to understand and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Ability to travel and work long hours (paid overtime) outside in a construction environment.
Ability to work independently with limited daily oversight.
Ability to communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors.
Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.

Nice To Haves

Construction inspection and management experience in stormwater management, environmental restoration, and utility construction.
OSHA 10-hour trained.
Technically proficient in Microsoft Office suite software, portable device use, and construction photography.
DNREC Certified Construction Reviewer
