We’re committed to helping you grow your career while contributing to impactful, sustainable projects. AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join our team in Toronto. This is a fulltime (40 hours per week), hybrid role with two in-office days per week. The position is primarily focused on projects across Ontario, with opportunities to support work across Canada and internationally as needed.

Requirements

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree from a program with relevant subject matter.
  • Minimum of 5 years of environmental consulting experience encompassing project planning, coordinating and project management, with emphasis in the areas of contaminated site assessment and remediation.
  • Experience with Ontario Regulation 153/04 (as amended).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment, including working with colleagues in different geographic regions.
  • Self-motivated, high energy, strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time and multiple projects appropriately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
  • Capable of understanding and appropriately applying prescribed safety and technical protocols.

Nice To Haves

  • Eligibility to be licensed as a P.Eng or P.Geo in the province of Ontario is considered an asset but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Ontario Regulation 406/19 is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the need and scope for sampling programs, including environmental indicators, chemicals of concern, and sampling constraints.
  • Develop environmental sampling protocols, the frequency and timing of sampling, optimum locations for continuous or discrete sampling, data capture systems, and parameter list for analysis.
  • Ensure site assessments are completed properly and that action plans are developed and implemented to satisfactorily achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Prepare site assessment report(s) to meet regulatory and other requirements, identifying potential risk and scope of further action by appropriate stakeholders, if necessary.
  • Communicate results of site assessment to stakeholders such as property owners, responsible party, regulators, the public, etc. via a public consultation or other appropriate communication process.
