About The Position

Kimley-Horn's Los Angeles, California (CA) office is seeking an upcoming graduate to join as an Environmental Planning Analyst in 2026. This is not a remote position. The role involves assisting in the preparation of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents, environmental impact reports, and negative and mitigated negative declarations. The analyst will also support Specific Plans, Master Plans, and other environmental or planning policy documents for a variety of infill and land development projects. This position offers the opportunity to gain expertise in CEQA/NEPA, sustainability, climate action planning, ENVISION, LEED, and Salmon-Safe, as well as environmental clearance associated with local comprehensive plans and land use planning. The role will involve working with infrastructure projects across industries such as transportation, transit, land planning, and aviation.

Requirements

  • A Planning Degree (Bachelors or Masters) from an accredited program by Summer of 2026 in City and Regional Planning, Urban Planning, Environmental Science/Sustainability/Management, or Other Related Major

Responsibilities

  • Help prepare Environmental Quality Act documents, environmental impact reports, and negative and mitigated negative declarations
  • Assist in Specific Plans, Master Plans, and other environmental or planning policy documents in support of a full range of infill and/or land development related projects
  • Support various project managers and collaborating with team members
  • Gain expertise in: CEQA/NEPA, sustainability, climate action planning, ENVISION, LEED, and Salmon-Safe
  • Environmental clearance associated with local comprehensive plans/local land use planning
  • Working with infrastructure projects from across industries such as transportation, transit, land planning, aviation
